Coronary Artery
CT Angiography (CTA)
What
is Coronary Artery CTA?
By using the most advanced CT technology available, a 64
slice CT machine will take thousands of pictures of your heart in
the matter of seconds. The pictures are then assembled to
create a three dimensional view of your heart. These pictures enable
the
radiologist
to examine all the areas of your heart to determine if there are
signs of coronary artery disease. The CTA test is less
invasive than the
traditional method for determining the presence of coronary artery
disease - coronary angiocath. No hospital stay is needed - CTA
is an outpatient procedure. Coronary angiocath's (heart cath)
are invasive and are not an outpatient procedure.
